Lifehouse - Had Enough
« on: March 05, 2010, 01:42:56 PM »
You can listen to a segment of this on iTunes (doesn't do it justice though) or Lifehouse has posted a link on their Facebook page that is playing clips of the new songs.  It's track #3 and they put it up today.  This give a better idea of it because you hear it from the beginning and a little more of it.

I love the comments that the Lifehouse fans are making!!!  Talking about this song being on of the top 10 songs they've written and how they have such a way with words!  :)

Of course, we've always known that Richard has a way with words like not many others............

Nicki, I've got to check it out!  Lifehouse is playing in Sacramento on my birthday with Daughtry in May.  I was going to go, but then I realized that I used up too much PTO when I was sick a few wks. ago, so I don't have enough PTO to take the day off.   :'(

I've got the album and the song is really good. The lyrics are excellent and very sad. I can see Richard writing the lyrics by himself however I don't htink he did because there's lyrical references of some of his songs all over this song

So Jeremy you don't think he wrote it cause it is too similar to other songs he has written.  Is that what you are saying??  ???
You think they used Richard's other songs to write the lyrics to this song??  Just asking, I'm not saying this in a accusing tone.
I'm trying to decide if I should buy it or not.

Definately get it, the whole album is really good, I think. I've always been a Lifehouse fan since Hanging By A Moment. Wade's got such a unique voice. There's no way for sure to know how much of the lyrics he wrote BUT it sounds like something he could have written all on his own. I just don't see him recycling three of his song titles and putting them into one song but he's surprised us before lol

But anyway, Smoke & Mirrors is a good album and I believe it's worth the buy.

I am a big fan of Grey's Anatomy...  ;) :) Yeah well, I'm a girl!  ;D And a few years back, I heard for the very first time "You and Me" on one of the episodes! I just got stunned with Jason's voice!

I did a little Google search about the band and became a fan since! "Had enough" is really catchy!!

Yes, Heidi............he is!  Good ear!!!

I bought it..........on iTunes so there were those little bonus things.  One of them is Jason Wade doing a little commentary on each song and he talks about how working with Chris and Richard on Had Enough was really effortless and the chemistry that they all had.

Can you freakin imagine sitting in the room watching the 3 of them work together? OMG!

So far, I really like Smoke & Mirrors...........but I haven't given it the proper listen yet.  Just have it playing in the background while I'm working.  Next week, it'll be blaring in the car while I'm on the road and I'll put it to the test!  :)

I did not buy the whole album, but I did buy Had Enough.  I love it.  Lifehouse is one of my favorite bands and I love Wades voice.  "Your All I Want" won me as a fan.

I would love to hear Richard sing Had Enough live though.  I was hoping they would leave the chorus  he sang on the Cruise DVD because he sounded so great.  But alas, it was cut!

Nicki, I would have loved to be a fly on the wall and watch those 3 guys write that song.  Freakin' awesome!  You can tell they had chemistry in the little blog they did together.  I bet they had a lot of laughs.

Jeremy, it sometimes surprises me how often Richard will reuse a phrase.  Kinda cool though, because as a songwriter, I really obsess about never doing that, and sometimes you just want to!  So I figure, if RM can do it, why not me?

I agree with Mary. I think the multiple Richard Marxesque phrases make it more likely that he wrote at least some of the lyrics in Had Enough. Great song, BTW. I also agree with Mary about how ridiculously amazing Richard sounded singing the chorus. He sang the final chorus, with he crescendo ending.  Jason Wade has a good voice too, but there's no comparison really.

I just got this CD.  I haven't listened to all of it, but Had Enough is great!  I'll have to listen again later on, but that is one of the strongest songs so far...very strong vocals and lyrics.  Jason's voice is quite different from Richard's.  Richard is my favorite, but I also like Jason as well.  Incidentally, I had to look everywhere in the Target store where I stopped to find the last copy....seems to to selling out in my area.  I bet this CD would be great for working out...I'll try it when I get over this cold and sinus problem and can breathe again.

I also got another Starbucks while at Target and forgot to ask for decaf, so now I'm so hyper that I must be typing 150 wpm, lol.  I've now switched to decaf tea with the hope that I will eventually fall asleep sometime.  ;D
