« on: February 19, 2010, 02:39:50 PM »
Hi everyone
I just found out that when i connect to the site www.richardmarx.com, my antivirus detect that a trojan virus has been found. It's not the first time, i did have this message several times and so my sister did. Did this already happen to anyone of you ? Just wanted to warn you about this problem.  :-[

Hey, I think I know what you're talking about. It's not a virus on the site but something on your computer that makes you think there's a virus. I've had this before. It doesn't really harm your computer but it sends you all kinds of false messages about viruses and the one I had, tried to get me to buy an anti-virus program from this bogus company that wasn't really an anti-virus company. You may need to just have your computer checked out and cleaned. This thing that I think you may have is more of a nuseance than anything else.
Wherever you go, whatever you do, I will be right here waiting for you

Thank you very much Jeremy for your reply! I also already got a message once that tried to get me to buy an anti-virus program! anyway now I'm relieved, I know that this is not a "real" virus that will infect my computer.... thanks again

I use Avast and I have been having for the last week or so 2 virus alerts each time I connect to RichardMarx.com, the main site...  :(.

Anyone else is having these problems?

I did check out on the Feedback section, with the link Cynde posted, and it did say there was no problem... I also ran a full scan, and still no problem...

Unfortunately, we might not be rid off the spammers, despite all Cynde's efforts and good work  :( !!!

Not a virus alert as such - but the last couple of times I went to the main site - it crashed my firefox browser on the first attempt, but was fine on the second attempt. I didn't mention it earlier - cos I've been having trouble with the computer and it could be the computer that is the issue not the site, but it's happened a couple of times now and only on the RM site which strikes me as rather odd.
I'll be there, when November falls... :-)

The only way I found not to have the virus issue anymore is to log on directly to the message board. I've added the "Richard Marx Community" link to my favourites, that's the only way I've found not to have the virus alert for the moment!

I don't have any problems here at home (on a mac) but at work (on a PC), I always get the 'virus detected warning' and when I click ignore, it crashes the browser.   :'(

Last week when I opened the Internet where richardmarx.com is my home page, I got one of those warnings that want you to buy the antivirus software.  Only it was one of those viruses that no matter what you click on it takes you right back to the original virus alert.  I tried 4 different editions of software and none of them removed my virus.  A pop-up would come up saying that that program was trying to infect my computer.  I had to totally strip my computer and start over !! :'( :'(
